I think there is something so attractive about people who live life without caution or without care - with no forethought necessary on how their actions and decisions in the now may impact the future. In fact, they have no concerns over their actions at all. They don't care who knows, who hurts, who's watching, who's laughing, who's wrong. These people laugh at the face of potential mishaps. They welcome uncertainties with open arms.
Perhaps it is the uncertainty associated with it that makes them attractive. Or perhaps it's the confidence they extrude. Or perhaps it's the wrinkles in their foreheads - which they have none of because these people have got nothing to worry about. Or perhaps it's in the bounce in their walk, such lightness - other people are normally held down by balls and chains. Somehow I think a man without a plan, disheveled and tousled, is far more attractive than a man who's got rolls and rolls of blueprint clutched under his arms, shirt buttoned to the collar, cufflinks and everything.
What a shame, but I'm just not cool like that. Unsuspectingly and unwillingly, I shed off my layers of 'cool' - one by one like onion peels, hoping that this cloak of caution will one day come in handy.
I better go to bed now lest I miss the 8 o'clock train. How incredibly and undeniably boring.
